Emily Bett Rickards, born on July 24 1991 in Canada, is a Canadian actor, best recognized for her role as Felicity Smoak in The CW TV series Arrow. Rickards is an British Columbia native. When she was a child, she started to pursue her love for acting through performing in musical theater. Her path in career development began at an early age after she completed high school, and then attended the Vancouver Film School. There, she completed the Acting Essentials course. Once she was done with the program, she went to an open audition and was accepted. Alida Vocal Studio, Vancouver was where she learned. Originally signed as a one-episode guest star, her chemistry with the show's main character Stephen Amell coupled with positive reactions from fans as well as her sarcastic quips led to her first signing as a co-star on recurring basis for the rest of the first season.
